National Bone Marrow Registry
- A bone marrow transplant may be the only hope of survival
for many patients with leukemia or aplastic anemia. The chance of
any given unrelated person matching a compatible donor is 1:20,000.
To find out how you can help, call 419-227-5121 for information.
National Rare Donor Registry
- A person with a blood type that occurs in only 1:15,000 is considered
a rare donor. When rare blood types are discovered, an individual's
name is placed on a national registry in Washington D.C. (with the
donor's permission). When a patient has a rare blood type, a compatible
unit of blood can be located anywhere in the United States or the
world.
Autologous Donations -
when appropriate, individuals are encouraged to donate their own
blood for any scheduled, elective surgery. Our region offers more

your blood donation for your surgery, please call 1-800-589-8129.
Directed Donations -
Having family members or friends donate blood for a specific individual
