CHILDCARE CLASS DESCRIPTIONS AND SCHEDULES
Common Childhood Illness/Communicable Disease
Transmission
The purpose of the American Red Cross Common Childhood Illness Course
is to prepare individuals, employed in a childcare setting, with
knowledge regarding Communicable diseases. This course meets Ohio
State Licensing requirements for daycare and preschool employees.
Topics include facts related to specific childhood diseases, how
diseases are spread, and what to do when a child is ill.

Child Abuse Awareness
The purpose of this class is to meet the minimum standards mandated
by the Ohio Department of Job & Family Services for the recognition
and reporting of Child Abuse and Neglect.

Pediatric (ChildCare) First Aid (Includes Infant/Child
CPR)
The purpose of this course is to give individuals the knowledge
and skills necessary to prevent, recognize and provide care for
breathing and cardiac emergencies, other sudden illnesses and injuries
in infants and children until advanced medical personnel arrive
and take over. This course provides specific information required
by the State of Ohio Day Care/Pre-School Licensing regulations.

Infant, Child CPR, & Adult CPR
The purpose is to train individuals to overcome any reluctance
to act in emergency situations and to recognize and care for life-threatening
respiratory and cardiac emergencies in infants, children and adults.

This Class is a Pre-Registration and Pre-Pay course. Please use the
registration form when mailing in a check or money order. The cost
of the class is $40.00 per person which includes all material and
instructor fee, and each student will receive a babysitters
first aid kit. All students must bring a sack lunch and a drink.
